Leadership podcast
Leadership is the most critical factor in the success of any organisation.
We have teamed up with a vastly experienced leader, trainer and coach to take a detailed look at this complex and fascinating subject via a series of accessible video podcasts.
Latest leadership podcast episode:
Why train your leaders?
‘How do I delegate?’
‘How do I get the balance right between getting the job done, keeping the team functioning and getting the best out of each individual?’
‘How can I communicate better?’
‘I’ve just been put in charge – where do I start?’
‘The world is moving so fast, how do I improve my leadership skills to thrive?’
Common questions we are asked. The answers require deep thought, a framework of actions and the understanding of the context of leadership and the power of the example you set.
Success, growth, innovation – and avoiding HR issues – all hinge on leadership. And this means people with the skills and confidence to set the tone at every level of an organisation.
So often we take our most technically qualified person and put them into a management or team leader role in the hope that they will succeed…….. but as we all know, it’s a completely different set of skills – without the right support that person is going to struggle and in fact, may well fail.
Perspective HR has been delivering Action Centred Leadership (ACL) training through its accredited trainer and Director Trevor Vanstone since the Spring of 2010. During that time, we have put many hundreds of aspiring and experienced leaders and managers from our client base and beyond through the ACL programme.
The course is a vital and lively exploration of the framework of leadership actions and the skills we need to get the best out of our team, each individual and achieve what is required. Attendees leave with a plan to further develop their leadership skills and solve real world problems back at work.
Delegates have come from a range of professions in the private and third sector. It doesn’t matter what you do, the functions of leadership and the skills to carry them out are universal.
Having gone through the process himself in the world of journalism and publishing – being put in charge at the age of 23 – Trevor brings an insight to what it means to have to step up into a leadership role.
Trevor is convinced that the greatest potential within an organisation is its people and developing leadership at every level will reward the time and resource spent on this many times over – especially important in these tough economic times.
