Introduction

When you have grown from a start-up in 2007 to the undisputed market leader from Bristol to Land’s End, you have got your strategy right.

Westexe Forklifts, based near Exeter, now has 55 employees, nearly half of them qualified engineers and offers a vast range of machines, support and spares.

The company has a HQ at Greendale Business Park and seven other premises, including depots in Truro, Plymouth and Barnstaple. The company ethos is, like all good ideas, simple but effective – offer the best range of products from all of the leading manufacturers but with a personal service, knowing each customer and tailoring the service exactly to their needs.

MD Nicki Dix summed the approach up: “We are the only strong independent forklift company that offers the same service as the manufacturers. We offer professionalism and the personal touch.”

Westexe has been successful in securing dealerships with leading brands such as Doosan, STILL and Hako. Nicki said: “We have access to over 10 of the main manufacturers – this means we can supply anything from any of them – different models to suit different applications and associated products such as tele handlers and access platforms. We sell people what they need rather than what you want them to buy.”

All of this is backed up with a team of highly qualified engineers, a vast array of spares and technical support.

Our Work

The one thing true in business is that to deliver outstanding service, you need a great team. This has been core to the growth of Westexe.

The team at Perspective HR has been involved for eight years, providing a full range of HR services from the essential documents to leadership training and the roll out of Breathe HR, the web-based HR management system which has added enormous efficiency, ease of use and time saving to the employment function.
