ACL Academy

After attending a two-day Action Centred Leadership course, the hard bit begins – putting it into practice.

How do you ensure the Task is done, the Team is functioning, and you are getting the best out of each Individual in the hurly burly of running your team, or indeed, the whole organisation?

The ACL course has given you the tools to lead and manage. The functions of leadership – planning, briefing, supporting, motivating etc. – are not mere concepts, but the actions you take each day to be more successful in your role and develop your career.

You have learned What to do as a leader, now it is time to deepen your knowledge of the How.

The curriculum

Our ACL Academy is a series of compact sessions spread over a year looking in greater detail at the key skills around:

  • Time management
  • Setting objectives and planning
  • Briefing and supporting your team
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Motivating your team
  • Evaluating performance and setting an example
  • Decision making

Learning with others

In addition, you will get the chance to discuss real workplace issues within the safe environment of a group of peers who are all looking to use their ACL skills to navigate through the myriad of daily judgment calls, successes and setbacks that are part and parcel of leading a team at work.

The trainer

Trevor Vanstone is an ACL trainer and an ACL Coach. ACL is based on the work of Professor John Adair, the world’s foremost scholar on the vast, vital and complex subject of leadership.

Trevor has trained hundreds of leaders since 2010 and also holds the role of an ACL Ambassador on behalf of Adair Leadership.

Trevor will be joined by other senior ACL trainers over the course of the sessions as they bring their own specialisms to give you the richest possible learning experience.

The nuts and bolts

The sessions will be bi-monthly, starting on Tuesday, September 26th at 2pm via Microsoft Teams.

Each session will also include peer support via an action learning set (in effect group coaching) to tackle challenges, share expertise and report back on progress.

The aim would be six sessions per year – at least one to be ‘in the room’, others via Teams.  Three-hour sessions.

Investment for the year is £695 + VAT
